Monday Evening Book Club

The Monday Evening Book Club meets on the third Monday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Grove House Living Room.

In June, we will be reviewing The Soloist by Steve Lopez. The story begins on Skid Row, when Steve Lopez discovers an obviously troubled and homeless man playing beautiful music on a rather beat up violin. Lopez wondered how a man with such a gift ends up on the street. It is in trying to learn the story that Lopez encountered Nathaniel Anthony Ayers and the lives of the two changed forever.

In April we reviewed People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks. This is a fictionalized history of the Sarajevo Haggadah, an ancient Hebrew book used to tell the story of Passover. We rated this book a nine (scores ranged from eight to ten).

Please join us on May 18, at 7 p.m. We would love to have you come and if you're interested, add your name to our list.
